Digging and Planting

I decided this year, to try again to grow food. I can't wait until we have a house with a yard and are able to plant a huge garden, but for now....we use pots! Cade helped me fill the pots with soil (mostly taking it OUT of the pots), dig small holes and plant the seeds. We planted tomatoes, red bell peppers, baby eggplant, yellow squash, bush beans, cucumbers, basil and some pretty flowers.

So far, the flowers are doing really well, and the veggies have sprouted and are growing slowly, but surely. I am hoping in a few weeks, we will have fresh veggies from our own backyard every night!

Cade loves to help water the plants every morning and evening. Such a great helper. He particularly favors giving water to the "black one". The poor baby eggplant in the black pot get flooded every time. Maybe that is why they haven't grown much....
