New Sandbox!

Cade loves to dig. Usually he digs at the beach or out in the yard at Grandma's, but today we got to Grandma's to find a lovely surprise! A sandbox, full of sand for digging and shoveling! Auntie Lizabeth even joined us for dig :)

Took a ride in the wheelbarrow too!

Family Day with the Animals

We spend a lot of time together on Sundays when Chris and I are both off, but mostly we hang out at home or head to the beach. My mom had given us passes to the wild animal park and Chris hadn't been in years so we decided to go today! It was so fun! The animals were really active and we had a chance to see them up close. The elephants were right in front of us playing in the water, the bats were awake and being fed and the tigers were laying right up against the fence.

Chris really enjoyed it and we loved having him with us. We both commented on how weird it still is sometimes that we have a child and we are a family who goes to the animal park on the weekends now. We have come a long way in the last nine years.

Such a fun day and we can't wait to do it again!

She did it!

Friday night was Elizabeth's high school graduation. I can't believe it. I clearly remember the day she was born. How does time fly by so quickly??

Chris, Cade and I joined my mom and dad, Amy and Jorge, Brian, Michelle and the kids to watch her walk and cheer her on.

Cade had fun playing on the grass, playing with the letters and trucks and reading with Gramma. It was a late night for everyone since the ceremony didn't even start until 7pm!

Congratulations Biscuit! We love you!

Waterplay

Summer is here and the livin' is....hot! Actually, compared to Chico summer, it has been very cool so far. We have had a few warm sunny days though and on those days, we take full advantage of playing outside and cooling down! Sunset park is one of our favorite places to play because of the really fun splash pad they have there. Water shoots up from the ground in random places and the kids love it. We often meet Molly and the kids there to cool down. Such a water baby!

Card for Dada

Cade loves to color and paint. I thought it fitting to let him make a card for Chris for Father's Day. It got a little crazy and messy, but he did a great job and had tons of messy fun! He was so proud to give it to Dada the next morning.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! We had a great day and Chris really seemed to enjoy himself (I hope). We decided that we would head down to the beach early and go for a little jog before we went home to make breakfast. Of course, Cade fell asleep on the way there....at 8:30am. Soooo plans changed as they must with kids and we decided to let him sleep and drove up and down the coast for a while before heading home. We laid around and relaxed for a while and then headed over to my parent's house to make dinner for my dad.

The Dads
Even though it was his day too, Chris was kind enough to make a delicious dinner (we all helped too) of pasta salad, potato salad, grilled corn (Dad's request), watermelon and veggie hotdogs. After dinner, Elizabeth and Chris went into the kitchen to "create". The end result was delicious chocolate chip cookies, including an over-sized version for Grandpa! Lucinda and Susan joined us for dinner and because of his early nap, Cade fell asleep for the night at 6:00pm. Dinner was so peaceful!

We are so lucky to have such wonderful dads in our lives and couldn't be more grateful for everything they do for us!

Mandy's Here!

I met Mandy while working at KidsPark in Chico. We both went to Chico State and after a few days of working together, realized we had a lot in common and really hit it off. We always have fun together and she is such a genuinely sweet, reliable and generous person.

We have not seen Mandy since last August, right before we moved back to San Diego, so when she called to say she wanted to come visit, I was elated! We got to spend a whole week together and it was so much fun. Cade loved having her here and still calls the spare room "Nandy's room". While she was here, we went to the zoo, the wild animal park, the fair, the beach, spent the morning in my parent's backyard drinking coffee and just relaxed at home. Mandy cooked dinner for us almost every night and it was delicious. While she was here she asked me to be a bridesmaid in her upcoming wedding and of course I said yes and cannot wait!

It was a really fun trip and I can't wait to see her again soon!
